How to get there

TO APPEAL OR NOT TO APPEAL!
We felt that this piece from 16th May e - newsletter from BRSCC HQ was important reminder for this event
What do you do when your race has finished? Kick the tyres; inspect the engine; load the car onto the trailer; have lunch, or tea or dinner; have a chat with your mates in the paddock? How many of you actually go and check the official results sheets – as your first job – as soon as your race has finished? If the answer is ‘not me guv’ then you are denying yourself the opportunity to query errors or omissions by the race organisers.

Section ‘O’ of the MSA Competitors Year Book (the Blue Book to you and me) clearly sets out the time limits for Protests and Appeals. In general you have a scant 30 minutes from the time of publication of the results (look at the bottom of the results sheet as it will have a publication time) to Appeal any matter relating to those results. There are other time limits for eligibility and other matters – so check out that all important Section ‘O’. So, in future, go and look at the result sheet rack immediately after your race. Because, if that 30 minute time period has elapsed, and you find a mistake then the chances are that the C of C and/or Stewards will deem your Protest or Appeal as ‘out of time’. The onus is on you, so make sure you know your judicial time scale, as time really is of the essence
