Details on Funcup

Dear All,
Fun Cup - Oulton Park Fundraising

For those of you who are regular Fun Cup racers, you will be aware that for the last three years we have dedicated our Oulton Park race to raising money for Charity. Over the past three years we have raised over £20,000, thanks to the generosity of the Fun Cup drivers and people in the paddock. This year, we would love to raise some money for Claire House. This is a very special charity, which looks after very sick children with life limiting, life threatening illnesses, together with their families throughout Merseyside, West Lancashire, Cheshire, North Wales and the Isle of Man.  Since their doors opened in 1999, Claire House, has looked after over 560 very sick children. They are committed to raising £2.5 million every year, over £200,000 every month and many people are surprised to hear they don’t receive any guaranteed government funding. Operating from their hospice in Liverpool and their hospice over on the Wirral, it is only through events such as the one we hope to hold at Oulton Park, and the generosity of those who attend that they can keep their doors open to those who need them most.  So on that note, Helen, at Claire House, would like to say thank you in advance from all of the children that Claire House has cared for, not just yesterday and today, but also those that they will care for tomorrow. She also hopes to bring some of the children to Oulton Park to see the cars and meet the drivers!

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your support at this event and over the years at Oulton Park.

For further information about Claire House, please visit http://www.claire-house.org.uk/

Kindest regards

Roxie

25th and 26th September at Anglesey Race Circuit
Our final double header event of the year at Anglesey Race Circuit saw the final two rounds of the Avon Tyres Formula Ford 1600 Northern Championship even though the Post 89 championship had already been decided, championship winner Jordan Skinner still made the trip to win both races, the biggest event of the weekend was the two races to decide the winner of the Pre 90 championship which even with only finishing second on Sunday still gave enough points for John Farrell to lift the trophy.

With some glorious weather over the weekend we also saw some cracking racing from the super and mighty minis, also some interesting racing from Formula 3 and OSS and the grids from the Euro Sports Saloons and Ford Fiesta's completed a great and full packed event. Below links to results information, pictures from the races and reports from the weekend.

Just wanted to pass on my thanks to those who organised the event on Saturday. I am not sure whether this was the Time Attack team, the BRSCC, or a combination of the two, but given the unforeseen circumstances and events on the day, I thought the organisers coped extremely well. As drivers we tend to be quick to complain about aspects which we are not happy with and therefore we should be equally quick to give credit where appropriate! I am not sure who this should be directed to, would you mind forwarding my email on please?
I also thought it was very proactive to have a structure to the assembly area for qualifying, an excellent thought!

Kind regards
Nigel Dolan
(Formula Ford 1600cc Northern Championship Driver)

Hi all,
Really pleased you FF guys enjoyed the event/show, from the FF perspective it was all BRSCC and from the TA, EDC, Live Demos and overall show it was mine and my teams responsibilities with support from BRSCC.
Apologies for some of the timetable issues throughout the day and thanks for bearing with us when things got a bit tight.

Good luck for the rest of the 2010 FF season guys J

Kind regards,
Mr. Glen Horncastle (Time Attack)
