Oulton Park 23rd July 2022
This meeting promises to provide plenty of close racing with all 5 of the BRSCC’s Championships catering for various types of Mazda MX5 in attendance.
These are headlined by the SuperCup Championship for Mk3 Models which regularly attracts some of the fastest and most skillfull drivers from across UK club motorsport.
This season the SuperCup Clubman Championship has been introduced. This is aimed at drivers who prefer to qualify and have all their races in one day plus shorter races that put less strain on their cars.
The original MX5 Championship is for the Mk1 Mazda MX5, one of the best small sports cars of all time, which provides a true challenge to master for drivers of all experience levels, backgrounds and ages. The MX5 Championship provides a cost-effective way for anyone to compete in a contemporary small open-topped sports car. Like the SuperCup, the MX5 series has a more accessible Clubman sister championship.
Finally, there is a series catering for the latest iteration of the MX5 – the Mazda MX-5 Mk4 Trophy. This is expected run alongside the SuperCup Clubman Champioship.
Supporting all this “Manic Mazda Mayhem” will be another category that isn well-known for close and exciting racing – the Nankang Tyre BMW Compact Cup.
There will also be a one-off invitational Formula Ford 1600 contest for the Moose Trophy.
