NEXT MEETING
Oulton Park – 22nd October 2022

Our meeting at Oulton Park on 22nd October features the final rounds of the Avon Tyres Northern & Super Classic Formula Ford 1600 Championship, Vinyl Detail ST-XR Challenge and the Fun Cup.
Throughout the year, John Murphy has been the man to beat in Class A of the FF1600 series (for chassis built in the 1990s). His white Van Diemen RF90 is always immaculately presented.
The most popular category is Class B for cars built in the mid to late ‘80s. After the rounds at Anglesey in August, Nick Barnes (Swift FB89) was leading the points table but he was only 4 points ahead of Peter Daly (Van Diemen RF88). Although due to a crash induced DNF at Croft, Daly is ahead when dropped scores are taken into account. That could all change when the series visits Donington in September, a month before the Oulton finale.
Paul Crosbie and Phil Nelson respectively lead the way in Classes C and D for older chassis.
The Fiesta ST150 has become the dominant car in the Vinyl Detail ST-XR Challenge and has produced some ultra-close racing. Michael Blackburn, Sam Beckett, Mark Blunt and Chris Grimes can all be expected to be battling at the front of the field in Cheshire.
Despite the double victory by UVio Hofmanns in the day and night Fun Cup races at Anglesey during August, the ever consistent GCI Racing still led the championship standings at that point in the season. They visit Donington in September before their final 4 hour encounter at Oulton.
